Choosing the Right Screen Mesh

The mesh you choose affects visibility, durability and comfort. We can use different mesh on different walls, such as solar screen on the sunny side and standard mesh elsewhere.

Standard Fiberglass Mesh

Good visibility and airflow at an economical price. The most common choice.

Heavy-Duty or Pet-Resistant Mesh

A thicker, tougher material for high-traffic areas where screens may get bumped or pushed.

Less Cleanup

Fewer leaves and pollen to sweep and skim.

Solar Screen Mesh

Blocks a large share of the sun's heat and glare while still keeping insects out. Ideal for west-facing patios.

Fine-Weave Mesh

Helps block smaller insects such as no-see-ums in areas near water.

Framing and Construction

Most commercial screen enclosures use aluminum framing because it is light, strong and will not rust. Frames are anchored to the floor and to the existing roof or cover. Kick plates along the bottom protect the screen from chairs, carts and feet. Intermediate rails add strength on tall walls. Doors are sized for guest traffic and accessibility and can be fitted with closers so they shut behind each person.

Planning for Traffic and Access

A restaurant patio, pool deck or break area sees constant foot traffic. We plan door locations around how guests and staff actually move, including routes to restrooms, kitchens and parking. Wider openings or double doors can make service easier. For accessible entries, we plan door widths and thresholds with care.

Seasonal Flexibility

Screens are perfect for warm months, but some businesses want more protection in winter. We can combine screen walls with removable or roll-down clear vinyl panels so the same space works in summer and in cooler weather. Motorized or rope-operated shades can be added for sun control.

Care and Repairs

Screens are easy to maintain. Brush or vacuum dust and pollen, rinse with a gentle spray of water and clean frames with mild soap. Avoid pressure washers, which can stretch or tear mesh. If a panel is damaged, we can rescreen it individually without rebuilding the whole enclosure.

What Affects the Cost

Cost depends on the length and height of walls, the number of doors, mesh type, framing details such as kick plates and rails, and whether you add vinyl panels or shades. We quote after measuring.

Screens slightly reduce airflow, but most guests find a screened patio more comfortable because they are not fighting insects. Ceiling fans help keep air moving.

Properly framed and anchored enclosures hold up well. Screens allow wind to pass through, which reduces stress compared with solid walls.

Screen enclosures usually need a roof or cover. We can build a cover and screen walls together.
